Is it Vertigo, or is it just... Age?

I assume many community members are familiar with the term Menopause/Perimenopause, a time when our body starts speaking a new language... a stage where our hormones go for a rollercoaster ride! So, after reading several articles on the subject, it's important for me to share: it turns out there is a direct link between our hormones and dizziness. We actually have estrogen receptors in our inner ear. When hormones start to "act up" and dance up and down, our ear feels it immediately. The fluids change, the crystals sometimes break loose, and we find ourselves with a floating sensation, brain fog, and sometimes vertigo that attacks out of nowhere.

So, what can we do? Before running to "heavy" treatments, we can try listening to our body and giving it our own support: 🌿 Magnesium is your new best friend: It helps relax muscles, calms the nervous system, and can be very helpful with "vestibular migraines." (Another nice friend is Ashwagandha, which can also soothe mood swings). 🥗 Balancing nutrition: Less sugar that "spikes" us, more greens, and perhaps incorporating soy or flaxseed which can help balance hormones gently. 😴 Sleep: Lack of sleep is the biggest trigger for dizziness. Try to create a calm sleep ritual. 🧘‍♀️ Movement: Don't give up on your body. Walking, yoga, or vestibular physiotherapy if needed—anything to remind the brain and body that they know how to stabilize.
