Good news and important update from Ichilov - Center of Excellence for treating Vertigo and Dizziness.

Dear friends, I am always looking to make information accessible here in the group about places that see us, the patients, in a complete way, and understand that dizziness is not "just" an ear problem, but something that affects all functions. I received an important update from Prof. Yahav Oron, Director of the ENT Clinic and Hearing and Speech Unit at Ichilov Hospital, and I want to share with you information about the advanced services they offer today. The clinic at Ichilov operates as a Center of Excellence in the vestibular field, and here are a few things important to know:

  • Holistic and Multi-system approach: The team doesn't just look at "the ear," but at the patient as a whole. They have close collaborations with the Physiotherapy Institute (including joint assessment!) and the Headache Clinic—a critical combination for many of us suffering from vestibular migraines or related neck problems.

  • Advanced Technology and Diagnosis: The fresh news is that just two weeks ago, a state-of-the-art VNG device was installed in the institute. In addition, advanced tests like VHIT, cVEMP, and oVEMP are performed regularly by a team highly skilled in interpretation.

  • Diverse Treatments: Starting from injections into the middle ear to, in rare cases where there is no other solution, unique surgeries to relieve dizziness.

  • Availability: Currently, the queue length for the clinic and tests stands at a few weeks (varies between services), which is definitely reasonable compared to what we sometimes know.

How to book an appointment? By phone: 03-6974000 or on the Ichilov appointment scheduling website.

I am really happy to see there is progress and renewal in equipment and therapeutic approach in the public system for our community.
