Can we "train" the brain out of dizziness? New research on Neuroplasticity (and lots of optimism...)

There are times we feel the body "forgot" how to be stable. The good news: It's not permanent, the brain can learn again! This is Neuroplasticity: the brain's ability to create new connections between nerve cells.

Research findings:

  • Nature Neuroscience (2024) showed that even 10 minutes a day of focused vestibular activity caused real brain changes.

  • A Cochrane Review (2022) explicitly stated that movement-based vestibular rehabilitation is an effective and scientifically verified treatment for chronic conditions.

What does this mean for us? It's not that movement "gets the body used to it," but that it re-educates the brain on how to process information. Even small steps are "brain training." Most importantly: Progress is personal. Some brains "calm down" in two weeks, others need months. Every small adaptation is a big brain step.
